Metraza has no account, no login and no server. Your measurements, projects and photos stay on your phone. The only third party involved is Google AdMob, which serves the adverts that keep the app free.
Metraza saves the following on your device only: your measurements and the geometric points they were built from, your projects and 2D plans, your notes and labels, the annotated screenshots you choose to keep, and your preferences (language, theme, unit of measurement, ruler calibration). None of this is sent to us or to anyone else, and all of it is removed when you uninstall the app.
The camera is used for two things: measuring in augmented reality, and taking a photograph that you want to measure on. The camera image is processed on your device and is never uploaded. A photograph is only saved if you ask the app to save it.
Metraza asks for access to your photo library when you choose a picture to measure on, and asks for permission to write to it when you save an annotated screenshot. If you refuse, the screenshot is still kept inside the app and nothing else is affected.
Metraza shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob. To do so, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share a device or advertising identifier, your IP address, your interactions with the adverts, and diagnostic information. It does not receive your measurements, your projects or your photographs.
Adverts are never shown while you are taking a measurement, and never when the app starts.
Google's policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads and https://policies.google.com/privacy
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Metraza shows Google's consent form before the advertising SDK is initialised, and you can reopen it at any time from the app settings. On iOS, the app asks for App Tracking Transparency permission; if you decline, adverts are still shown but are not personalised.
Metraza does not collect your location. It does not create an account or ask for an email address. It does not ask for payment details — there is no subscription and no in-app purchase. It does not upload your measurements or your photographs anywhere. It does not read your contacts, your files or your browsing history.
Metraza is not directed at children under 13.
Because everything is stored locally, you control all of it: delete a measurement or a project from inside the app, clear the app's data from your phone's settings, or uninstall the app to remove everything at once. For the advertising identifier, you can reset or limit it in your phone's settings, and you can withdraw your advertising consent from the app settings.
Measurements produced by Metraza are indicative. They depend on your device, the lighting and the surface being measured. Metraza is not a certified metrology instrument, and its results should be verified with a suitable instrument before being used for cutting, ordering or building.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page is updated. Material changes are also mentioned in the app's release notes.
