In one paragraph

Mentaza is a client for Google’s Gemini API. You supply your own free API key; the app sends your messages straight from your phone to Google and shows you the answer. There is no DoliMarketPlace server anywhere in that path — we have none. We never see your conversations, we hold no account for you, and the only thing we can observe about you is what Google AdMob observes in order to show an advertisement.

Your Gemini API key

The key you paste into Mentaza is stored in the app’s private storage on your device, which the operating system keeps isolated from other applications. It is sent to generativelanguage.googleapis.com — Google’s own endpoint — as the credential for each request you make, and to nowhere else. It is never sent to DoliMarketPlace.

Automatic system backup is switched off in this app on purpose (android:allowBackup="false"), so your key is not copied into a cloud backup without your knowledge. You can remove the key at any time from Settings → Gemini key → Remove key; your conversations are kept.

What leaves your phone, and where it goes

This is the part that matters, so it is written plainly. When you send a message, the following is transmitted to Google:

• the text of your message and the recent messages of that same conversation (up to the last 30, so the model has context);
• any photo, document or PDF you attached to it;
• the role you may have given the model for that conversation;
• the model you selected, and whether web search is switched on.

Nothing else. Mentaza does not send your other conversations, your settings, your contacts, your location, or any identifier of you. When web search is switched on, Google performs a search in order to answer, and the sources it used are shown to you under the reply.

This processing is carried out by Google under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Please read the first of those. Google states that, on the free tier of the Gemini API, it may use your prompts and the responses to improve its products, and that human reviewers may read them — so do not paste anything you would not want a person to see. On paid tiers, Google states that it does not use your content that way. Which tier applies is a matter between you and Google, determined by the key you created; Mentaza has no influence over it and no way to change it.

What stays on your phone

Your conversations — including the images and documents you attached and the images the model generated — are stored only in Mentaza’s private storage on your device. So are your settings: language, theme, answer language, chosen models, and how many times you have opened the app. We have no copy of any of it and no way to obtain one.

The only way any of this leaves your device is a backup file you create yourself, from Settings → Export everything to a file. The file goes wherever you send it.

Deleting everything is immediate and complete: Settings → Delete all conversations, or clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app.

Permissions, and why each one is asked for

Mentaza requires exactly one permission: internet access. Everything else is optional, is requested only at the moment you use the feature, and the app works without it.

• Microphone — only while you are dictating. The audio is handled by the speech recognition service of your operating system, not by Mentaza. Depending on your device, your language and your settings, that system service may process the audio on the vendor’s servers (Google on Android, Apple on iOS) rather than on the device; that is governed by their policies, not ours. Mentaza receives only the resulting text, and never sends audio to Google’s Gemini API.
• Camera — only when you choose to photograph something to ask about it. The photo is attached to your message and therefore sent to Google, like any other attachment.
• Photos — only when you attach an existing picture or start from one in the image studio.

Mentaza deliberately does not request: location, contacts, the list of installed applications, all-files access, any accessibility service, or permission to start at boot.

Reading answers aloud uses your operating system’s own text-to-speech engine. No text is sent anywhere for that.

Advertising

The app displays advertising provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and usage data in order to serve and measure ads. This processing is carried out by Google, not by DoliMarketPlace. See Google Advertising and the Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising is deliberately kept away from your conversations: no banner is ever loaded on the chat screen, in the image studio, or during setup, and a full-screen ad is never shown when you open the app nor around sending a message. Your conversations are never used to target advertising — they are not available to us, and they are not passed to AdMob.

Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent screen before personalised advertising is enabled, and can change that choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices. On iOS, Mentaza does not ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and does not track you: advertising there is non-personalised.

Mentaza has no in-app purchase and no subscription. Every feature is open to everyone; advertising is our only source of revenue.

No account, no analytics of our own

There is no sign-up, no login, no profile. DoliMarketPlace operates no server for this app and runs no analytics SDK in it. We do not know how many messages you send, what you ask, or which screens you visit.

Not affiliated with Google

Mentaza is an independent application. It connects to Google’s Gemini API using the key you provide. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Google. Gemini and Google are trademarks of Google LLC.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13.

Your rights

Everything Mentaza holds about you is on your own device, so you can inspect it (export), correct it (edit or delete individual messages) and erase it (delete all conversations, or uninstall) without asking anyone. Since nothing is sent to us, there is nothing held on our side to request, correct or erase. For the content you sent to Google, and for the advertising identifier, the controller is Google; those requests go to Google.

If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new « last updated » date.
